Police get close to full staffing

With the recent hiring of two new officers, the Norwell Police Department is nearly fully staffed. Chief Ted Ross said the department of 22 is still short one officer, but that position will be filled soon. The two new officers are William Crowley and Nathan Morena. “We’re looking forward to having a full roster so we can maintain the staffing levels of one sergeant and three patrolmen on duty at all times,” Ross said. Also hired recently were three special police officers — Daniel Campanelli, Sean Doherty, and Todd McAnaugh. They are part-time employees and will be used on an as-needed basis to back up officers for tasks such as traffic details, Ross said.
