The exhibit “The First 85 Years of the Cohasset Historical Society” will be on display at the Pratt Building, 106 S. Main St., through Friday as part of the society’s year-long birthday celebration. Items on display include a Civil War-era ball gown, a gold-topped Boston Post cane for the oldest resident in town, and a 1916 Oaks Farm trophy for a prize cow. “We want to allow people to see the vastness of our collection,” said executive director Lynne DeGiacomo. “We haven’t archived everything, but we have over 25,000 things.” The collection is especially rich in textiles, she said, as well as memorabilia from Cohasset’s long theatrical history.
