Orthopedic facility set to open

The New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center, a 66,000-square-foot orthopedic facility on the Westwood/Dedham line, is nearing completion and will start taking appointments early next month. The facility, a partnership with Shields Health Care Group, is located on Allied Drive along Route 128 and will open Sept. 3, said New England Baptist spokeswoman Lisa Rand. Until now, much of New England Baptist’s outpatient work was completed at its Boston hospital, she said. The new center has no beds for overnight stays, but contains eight operating rooms, physical therapy stations, X-ray facilities operated by Shields, and physician office space. About 50 people will be employed at the center, which cost about $25 million to build. For more information, visit www.nebh.org or call 855-370-6324.
