Free town guide available


“Explore Rochester” is a recently published free trail guide that describes 12 protected, accessible public holdings in Rochester, with maps, photos and other information. The 52-page guide was published at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School through a collaboration of several local orgnizations. Laurene Gerrior, primary author of the guide and chairwoman of the Open Space Committee, said: “We were able to include a lot of information about the history of Rochester’s land and people. Local resident provided snippets of historical information and photos that make the land come alive.” Copies are available at the Town Hall Annex, 37 Marion Rd., or from the Rochester Land Trust by e-mailing The digital version will be available soon at the town’s website,, Gerrior said.
