The Westwood Public Library’s Board of Trustees will hold an official ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the new 32,000-square-foot building at 660 High St. next Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Events include speakers and refreshments. The library was funded by a $9.3 million Proposition 2½ override, a $4 million state library grant, and private donations. The soaring, two-story structure with huge windows and natural lighting contains gallery space for art exhibits, with café tables and wireless Internet access. Its large public meeting room with kitchen facilities seats 100 and has automated darkening shades and a drop-down projector for presentations. Since its grand opening opening in July, the library has broken all records for borrowing and attendance, according to library director Tom Viti, who attributed the surge to the latest in technology, a caring staff, and “a truly enthusiastic general public.”
