Lory Newmyer announced she’s leaving her job as executive director of the Hull Lifesaving Museum in December. Newmyer has worked at the museum for 26 years, and has led it since 1996. The museum’s board is looking for an interim director and plans to have a permanent executive director by June 2014. “My life with the museum has been a joy and a privilege, for which I am lastingly grateful,” Newmyer said. She said she would continue volunteering and rowing with the museum, while pursuing her interests in writing and art, and studying secondary trauma incurred by longtime caregivers and social workers. The Hull Lifesaving Museum is headquartered at the old Point Allerton US Lifesaving Station in Hull, with maritime programs at the Windmill Point Lighthouse at Hull Gut, the Seaport Boathouse in South Boston and the Boston Rowing Center in Fort Point Channel.
