Nancy Holt, the treasurer collector for Marshfield, has been hired as Scituate’s finance director/town accountant and was welcomed at the selectmen’s meeting Tuesday night. “She is experienced, intelligent, and very familiar with municipal law and reporting requirements which are critical for the position,” said Town Administrator Patricia Vinchesi. “I am also relieved that as we prepare for the fall Town Meeting and the annual budget cycle begins we will have a permanent person in the position.” The $102,000-a-year position was posted after Town Accountant Meg Lamay left for a job in Cohasset in May. Holt worked for Marshfield for the past 13 years, and in financial roles in Hingham since 1995. She is a certified municipal collector, certified municipal treasurer, and certified assessor, and said she will begin working on additional certifications as a town accountant.
