School district surveys

As officials from the Silver Lake Regional School District begin developing a plan for systemwide improvements, they are calling on residents to help identify topics of interest. “We see this as a first step toward giving us a foundation as we develop a plan for the future of our schools,” said Assistant Superintendent Joy Blackwood. “We want to make sure we’re following the path the community wants us to follow.” Surveys for the long-range strategic plan are available on all of the schools’ websites, and an e-mail with a survey attachment was sent to all parents and school staff last week. Two community focus group meetings have been held and two more are scheduled — one on Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Dennett Elementary School in Plympton, and the other on Oct. 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Halifax Elementary School in Halifax.
