The three candidates seeking to fill a seat on the Board of Selectmen are scheduled to participate in a forum that begins at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Hall. Brian Barthelemes, Mark Christensen, and Nancy Leonard are vying for the seat left vacant by the April resignation of Gary Young. The term expires in May 2015. The “Meet the Candidates” event is being organized by the Hanover Town Republican Committee and will last about an hour, said Jim Van Arsdale, chairman of the committee. Steve Richardson, vice chairman of the committee, will moderate the event. “We just think it’s important that people hear from the candidates before the vote later this month,” said Van Arsdale. “The special election is on a Saturday in the fall and people are busy.” Voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 28.
