The annual Easton Fire Rescue open house will be held on Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m., at Station 1 on Lothrop Street. On display will be a range of fire apparatus, including pumpers, ladder and brush trucks, boat firefighting gear, ice and rescue gear, confined-space rescue gear, an advanced life-support ambulance, a hazardous materials truck, and a 1935 Ford Pirsch pumper. Free refreshments will be provided, and children will receive fire helmets, coloring books, safety brochures, and information about Smokey Bear. Also planned are demonstrations of the Jaws of Life, a thermal imaging camera, and a Stokes basket.
