Construction underway at manufacturing plant

AccuRounds, which manufactures precision parts, broke ground last month on an 18,000-square-foot addition to its 26,800-square-foot facility on Doherty Avenue, according to company president and CEO Michael Tamasi. He said work should be finished by April. The company employs about 70 people, and plans to double its revenue and increase employment by 50 percent over the next five years, Tamasi said. AccuRounds manufactures cylindrical parts primarily for the medical, defense, aerospace, semi-conductor, and oil-gas industries. The goods are sold here and as far away as Singapore, Tamasi said. “We want people to realize that manufacturing is alive and well in the US, and experiencing a bit of a renaissance,” he added.
