Marshfield officials and about 30 invited residents, many of whom are local business people, met Monday for an economic strategy session with Barry Bluestone, director of Northeastern University’s Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy, and Nancy Lee, another representative of the center. Town Administrator Rocco Longo said Bluestone was inspiring. “He was outstanding. It was like being in a college class,” Longo said. He anticipates that Bluestone will present a report to the Board of Selectmen sometime after Nov. 1 that discusses ways in which Marshfield can attract new business investment. The town is participating in the center’s economic development self-assessment program; Town Meeting appropriated $4,500 for the work in April.
