Hazardous waste drop-off

Town residents have a chance to safely dispose of hazardous wastes from their homes and garages. The town is holding a household hazardous-waste collection day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pembroke Recycling Center, 158B Hobomock St. The collection is limited to residents who have a current recycling sticker. Items that will be accepted include drain cleaners, paint thinners, photo chemicals, mercury, ammonia, oven cleaners, oil-based paints, diesel fuel, and pesticides. Items that will not be accepted include latex paints, radioactive waste, tires, fluorescent light bulbs, propane tanks, or any commercial hazardous waste.
