Hired teachers bring relief to schools


After several years of lean budgets, School Superintendent Brenda J. Hodges said the ability to hire 10 new teachers this fall has brought much-needed relief. “People are appreciative of the additions,” said Hodges. The hires have allowed the school district to restore some electives at Mansfield High School, increase teaching time at Qualters Middle School, decrease class sizes at the Jordan/Jackson Elementary that houses Grades 3 to 5, and improve the level of support offered by adjustment counselors districtwide.
