Rockland Town Hall will host a drug take-back day at which anyone may anonymously drop off prescription drugs that have expired or are no longer needed. The event is part of a national program coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Agency, and is designed to prevent prescription drug misuse and abuse by offering residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of medication. Rockland also participated in the last national take-back day in April. More than 5,829 municipalities nationwide collected approximately 371 tons of prescription drugs that day, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency. The event, will be held on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be organized by Rockland Police, Rockland Cares, the Rockland Board of Health, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
