Library has literacy station for young patrons

The Pembroke Public Library has acquired a computer device with more than 60 educational software titles for children ages 2 to 8. The AWE Inc. Early Literacy Station, which is not connected to the Internet, is intended to offer age-appropriate material that can help prepare children for school and to improve their learning once they enroll. The station’s software covers reading, math, science, social studies, writing, arts and music, and reference materials. The station, purchased through a donation from the Friends of the Pembroke Public Library, is in the children’s room.
