Adult zoning revote


For the third time in two years, Town Meeting will vote on an article related to adult entertainment zoning. The proposed bylaw would allow adult uses in a light industrial zone by special permit. Pasqualino Pannone, Planning Board chairman, said the language regarding buffer areas has been relaxed to allow perhaps four to six locations, compared with two or three in the language approved last year. The 2012 article was modeled on language previously recommended by the attorney general’s office, but the AG’s office rejected it as too restrictive due to legal challenges in other communities, Pannone said. This past May, Town Meeting approved a one-year moratorium on such uses to give the town time to write a new bylaw. All of the potential locations would be adjacent to Route 1, he said. Town Meeting starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Sharon High School.
