The First Congregational Church of Rockland will celebrate its 200th anniversary next weekend and host a series of events commemorating its 1813 dedication. On Saturday at 6 p.m., the church will host a surf and turf banquet. Tickets are $25 per person, and reservations must be made in advance by calling 781-878-0060. At 7:30, the Rev. Doug Showalter will host a free program, “You’re Sitting in My Pew!” The event is open to the public, and will include an overview of the history of the Congregationalists in Massachusetts. On Sunday, the church will host several guest speakers, including the church’s former pastor, the Rev. Thomas Barker.
