Jazz performance at library

The Westwood Public Library will host saxophone player Mike Monaghan and his jazz quartet this Sunday at 3 p.m. in the library lobby. Along with pianist Brad Hatfield, Monaghan will perform jazz standards and show tunes. Both are respected local musicians who have performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra and many popular artists. They can be heard on recordings by the Boston Pops and the soundtrack to the movie “Mystic River.” Hatfield’s work on television scores, including the FX network’s “Rescue Me” and many daytime soap operas, has earned him an Emmy award. The free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Westwood Library. Refreshments will be served at intermission. The quartet has been performing at the library for more than 25 years.
