Andrew Daniel has been hired as the town’s new facilities manager, replacing Michael Meunier, who retired in November. Daniel, a 33-year-old Rochester native who now lives in Marion, is a licensed construction supervisor and registered home improvement contractor. Daniel earned his degree from Johnson & Wales University in Florida, working in restaurants in Florida and Boston, including at the Four Seasons. After he was laid off in 2001, he concentrated on a construction career. Selectmen signed him to a six-month contract because contracts in Rochester start when the fiscal year begins on July 1. At that time, if his job performance is satisfactory, he will be offered a three-year contract, he said. In a telephone interview, Daniel said his family was one of the founding entities of Rochester, adding, “It has always been my goal to get back to town and serve the place where I grew up.”
