Nomination papers for the April 29 annual town election will be available in the office of Town Clerk Danielle Sicard Monday. Norton voters this year will be filling eight seats, including one each on the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee. The other positions are town moderator, two seats on the Planning Board, and one seat each on the Board of Assessors, the Housing Authority, and the Water and Sewer Commission. In an interview, Sicard said that 50 certified signatures are needed to qualify for the ballot, but to ensure they meet the requirement, she advises potential candidates to collect more than that number. The last day to obtain nomination papers is March 7 and the deadline to submit them is March 11. For more information, call the clerk’s officve at 508-285-0232, or go to the clerk’s page at www.nortonma.org.
