Selectmen’s seats on ballot

The selectmen’s seats held by Jack Franey and Michael O’Donnell are among the positions on the ballot for the annual town election April 26. O’Donnell, a Carver police sergeant, is ineligible to run because a bylaw approved last year bars current town employees from holding that position, according to the town clerk’s office. Other offices on this year’s ballot include one member on each of the following boards: assessors, health, public works, North Carver Water District, housing authority, planning board, and Redevelopment Authority. Also on the ballot are two seats on the library trustees and the school board. Nomination papers can be taken out until March 6, and March 10 is the last day to return them with 40 valid residents’ signatures. The April election will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Carver High School gymnasium. For more information call, the town clerk’s office at 508-866-3403.
