Local Democrats have a chance to participate in their state party’s annual gathering. The Hanson Democratic Town Committee will be holding a caucus at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 in Town Hall to choose four delegates and three alternates to the Democratic State Convention, slated for June 13-14 at the DCU Center in Worcester. Any resident registered as a Democrat as of Friday is eligible to take part in the caucus and run for one of the positions. The convention’s main business is to endorse the party’s candidates for governor and other statewide offices on the November ballot. “This is grass-roots democracy, and we are encouraging people to get involved,” said Kathleen DiPasqua-Egan, chairwoman of the Democratic Town Committee.
