New municipal phone system

The main telephone number for Town Hall has changed as part of the town’s conversion to a new digital phone system that allows employees to have voicemail, Town Administrator Rocco Longo said in an interview. Although some employees had message recorders, the town offices did not have voicemail under the old copper-wire telephone system, which was at least 15 years old, he said. The new main telephone number, 781-536-2500, gives callers access to menus to connect with departments and personnel. Employees will also be able to hold conference calls for the first time.
