Selectmen focus on March meetings

The Board of Selectmen will meet at the Senior Center at 7 p.m. on Monday as they and other town officials prepare for the March 8 Special and Annual Town Meetings. Selectmen chairman David Madigan said in an interview that members of the Finance Committee, Fiscal Advisory Committee, the town moderator, and other members of town boards and staff are expected to attend to review motions and warrant articles. Town Meeting members will be voting on the operating and capital budgets, among other matters. Madigan said the Board of Selectmen unanimously recommended all but one of the proposed articles at its meeting Monday. He said members did not favor raising the height of railings on walkways in the new high school foyer in part because the design has already been set and any changes would mean an increase in cost.
