Team to evaluate police force

A team from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission will be visiting town on Feb. 11, 12, and 13 to begin examining the local department’s policies, procedures, operations, and facilities, according to Police Chief Allen Krajcik. Verification that the department meets the commission’s standards is part of a voluntary process to gain state accreditation, he said. To achieve accreditation, the Police Department must meet 257 mandatory standards, and at least 55 percent of 69 optional standards, he said.
