Town seeks project managers

The town is seeking two project managers to head up major municipal building projects as they enter the design phase. Town Manager David C. Murphy said that one would head up the design of the inter-generational community center and renovations to the Turner Public Library. The other manager would head up the planning for the construction of a new fire station and renovations to the police station, he said. “These are the first major steps toward a major investment in the future of the town,” Murphy said in an e-mail. He said he hopes to have both managers on board by mid-March. The Town Council approved $1.9 million for the planning and design for the projects in November. He said the total cost of construction is expected to be about $19 million. Murphy said in an interview that the projects are part of “collective bold approach” to improve the town. Public input will be sought through meetings and the town’s website as the designs progress, Murphy said.
