Icy water ran down the walls of Town Hall this month, flooding some offices. Town Manager Philip Lemnios said in an interview that an ice dam in a gutter Feb. 13 sent water pouring down the walls, eventually reaching the basement of the 92-year-old building. The Conservation Department on the second floor was able to reopen after the long holiday weekend, although the Tax Collector’s office on the floor below had to remain closed longer while it dried out, he said. The tax-collection staff is working in another room, where residents can pay their taxes. Lemnios said no documents were destroyed in the incident. Town officials have been debating whether to renovate Town Hall or move its offices to one of the town’s school buildings. Lemnios said the selectmen and School Committee are meeting March 5 to discuss the latter option.
