Raynham is partnering again with Great American Rain Barrel Co., of Hyde Park, to offer reduced-price rain barrels to residents. By connecting the barrels to their downspouts, residents can collect rainwater and use them for such things as lawns and gardens, reducing use of town water and saving money. Residents can purchase the 60-gallon barrels for $65 apiece, well below the retail price of $119. The deadline to order a barrel is May 2. They can be purchased by going to www.greatamericanrainbarrel.com and clicking on “shop local programs,” or by calling 800-251-2352. “Uncertain weather patterns and high water bills are teaching residents that they need to save every drop of rain,” Suzanne Gebelein, the company’s owner, said in an interview.
