City posts online energy survey

Residents are being encouraged to fill out a six-question online survey to improve Quincy’s chances for being considered for the state’s Solarize Mass program. The program, a partnership between the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the Green Communities Division of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, allows participants to purchase small-scale solar electricity equipment as a group at below-market rates. More than 900 residents and business owners in the state have taken advantage of the program over the past four years, according to Solarize Mass. Mayor Thomas Koch announced the city’s interest in the program last week. The survey is posted to the city’s website, www.quincyma.gov.
