Candlelight tour: The town is hosting a candlelight tour of the historical Captain Samuel Robbins House, 188 Main St., on Friday, Oct. 6, starting at 7 p.m.
Stress reliever: Thayer Public Library, at 798 Washington St., is hosting an adult coloring session on Monday, Oct. 2, starting at 7 p.m. The library will provide the colored pencils and coloring pages. No registration required.
Senior drivers: The city is hosting a panel on driver safety for the elderly at Veterans Administration New England Healthcare Systems, 940 Belmont St., on Oct. 2 starting at 1 p.m. MassDOT officials will be there to highlight information on medical conditions that affect driving and warning signs of unsafe driving.
Poet vs. rapper: The Brockton Public Library, at 304 Main St., is hosting an audition for “The Poet vs. The Rapper Competition” on Saturday, Oct. 7, starting at 1 p.m. Auditions will continue every Saturday in October, with the competition in November.
Flu clinic: The town is hosting a flu clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Willcutt Commons, 91 Sohier St. The clinic is open to any resident age 9 or older. Attendees are asked to bring their health insurance cards.
Halloween illumination: The Dedham Public Library, at 43 Chuch St., is hosting “Illuminate Your Halloween” on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. The library is asking attendees to bring their own costume, and they will be provided with electroluminescent wire, LEDs, and batteries.
Photography: The Duxbury Free Library, at 77 Alden St., is hosting a session on smartphone photography on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how to take better photos using apps and various techniques.
Social Security: The Mansfield Public Library, at 255 Hope St., is hosting a Social Security workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 3, starting at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will include discussions about Social Security benefits, its history, and recent changes.
Teen writing: Ventress Memorial Library, at 15 Library Plaza, is hosting a teen writing club on Tuesday, Oct. 3, starting at 5 p.m. The session will provide teenagers with writing prompts, tips, snacks, and more. To register, call 781-834-5535.
Flu clinic: The town is hosting a walk-in flu clinic at Center School on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Evening appointments are available by calling 508-758-4118. The clinic is free to all town residents.
Festival: “2017 Celebrate Milton,” a town-hosted event, takes place on Sunday, Oct. 1, from noon to 4 p.m. at the back parking lot of Pierce Middle School on Brook Road.The free event will include local businesses and nonprofit organizations, music, bounce houses, and food. Zumba: The Norton Public Library, at 68 E Main St., is hosting a free Zumba class on Monday, Oct. 2, starting at 1 p.m. Attendees will participate in workouts with a mixture between low- and high-intensity moves. No registration is required.
