Town seeks resident input on rules for new park

No paint ball, no ice skating, no camping, no fishing, no hunting, no drones.

These are some of the proposed rules for the park at the Paul Revere Heritage Site, which is expected to open in the spring, and Canton officials are seeking input on how the new park should be managed.

A draft set of rules and regulations is posted on the town website, and residents are asked to comment on them by completing an online survey or attending a public meeting in January.

The draft rules have been endorsed by the Paul Revere Heritage Commission, and will be submitted to the Board of Selectmen after an opportunity for public comment.

The town has various plans for the former Plymouth Rubber site, including residences, public open space, and the restoration of Paul Revere’s copper rolling mill. The open space will be acquired by the town.

The survey is scheduled to close Dec. 15. In addition, the commission’s open space subcommittee will collect public input on the plan at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 in the community room of the Canton Public Library.
