Holidays shift trash pickup

The town has altered the trash collection schedule to accommodate the holiday weekends. Trash pickup begins on Tuesday this week. Similarly, pickup will begin one day later than usual the following week, on Jan. 3. In consideration of the holidays, pay-as-you-throw customers may put out an additional 35-gallon barrel (no bulk-waste sticker needed) or an additional non-PAYT-marked trash bag, along with their usual marked containers. Residents may also leave one Christmas tree per household at the curb during the first week of next month. - James O’Brien
