Beavers are back under control

Beaver dams that were causing flooding along Southborough Road have been brought under control, according to Town Manager Blythe Robinson. “The culverts got replaced and the Conservation Commission put in a pond leveler’’ at the location of one problematic dam, Robinson said. “That has gotten the water level down on the south side to where it needs to be, and improvement on the north, with some further drop to be achieved.’’ According to Robinson, 19 beavers have been trapped in town since conservation and public works officials began to address roadways that were being threatened by overflows from their dams. - James O’Brien
