Thorpe and Westman join forces to lead Newton North to a five-win start

Soon after Michael Thorpe moved from Exeter, N.H. to Newton as a sophomore, he ran into Luke Westman at the John M. Barry Boys & Girls club in Newton, and they immediately clashed. Westman was in line to be the starting point guard at Newton North; Thorpe was determined to beat him out. Not only did both players make varsity that winter, they both started and they have ever since. Now best friends, they have propelled the Tigers to a 5-0 start on the court.
