Town Manager Mark Haddad is proposing a $29.2 million operating budget for the 2013 fiscal year that represents a 3.21 percent increase over this year’s budget. Based on the proposed budget, taxes for the owner of an average single-family home would go up by about $308 for the year. For a home valued at $400,000, the tax bill would be $6,740. The proposed budget, which will be voted on by Town Meeting this spring, includes funds to hire an additional police officer and firefighter. - Jennifer Fenn Lefferts
