Town in line to buy parcel

The town is expected to purchase 56 acres off Ball Hill Road as conservation land in the new few months. The Sudbury Valley Trustees, a regional land preservation organization, has agreed to buy the property from resident Barry Eager for $415,000, and the local Conservation Commission expects to purchase the land from the trustees using money from the town’s conservation fund and a $200,000 state grant. The town did not have enough money in the fund last month to complete the purchase by the end of the year - the deadline for a purchase and sale agreement between the town and Eager - so the Sudbury Valley group stepped in to facilitate the transfer.
