Official call for coexistence with coyotes
Belmont official sees coexistence as best way to manage predators
For weeks, Belmont’s Animal Control Officer John Maguranis has been tracking a coyote through the streets of Belmont. He’s running out of time: the coyote has mange, a parasitic skin infection, a bad case of which can be fatal. The deep of winter is setting in, and Maguranis wants to get the coyote to the hospital. As residents of nearby towns ponder how to get rid out their coyote populations, Maguranis is busy trying to save Belmont’s.
