Time for annual dog licenses

It is license time for dog owners in town, but anglers and hunters will have to go elsewhere for their permits this year. Residents have until March 1 to secure paperwork for dogs at least six months old. The annual fee is $20, or $10 for neutered or spayed pets. Failure to license a dog incurs a $25 fine in addition to the annual fee. A current rabies vaccination certificate is required. Contact the town clerk for more information at 508-841-8507; license applications are available at the clerk’s page on the town website, www.shrewsbury-ma.gov. Meanwhile, hunting and fishing licenses are now obtained through the state wildlife agency’s MassFishHunt program.
