Tax programs at the senior center

Two tax-related programs will be held at the town’s senior center starting this week. State Senator Richard Ross, a Wrentham Republican, will conduct an informational seminar Tuesday at 1 p.m. on the senior circuit-breaker tax credit, which is for seniors whose property tax payments exceed 10 percent of their annual income. Then, starting Thursday at 9 a.m. and continuing every Thursday until April, trained volunteer counselors from the AARP will assist local seniors with their tax returns. Participants should bring their W-2 and 1099 forms, and last year’s completed state and federal returns. Advance registration is required; for more information or to register, call 508-528-4430 or e-mail shruhan@virtualnorfolk.org. - Rachel Lebeaux
