Candidates make their pitch

The League of Women Voters of Lexington will hold a candidates night this week to give voters a chance to meet with those running for local office. The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday in Clarke Middle School on Stedman Road. The first part of the event will see Town Meeting candidates meeting potential constituents in classrooms. Candidates for townwide offices will then meet with voters in the second half of the evening, with a moderator presiding over a question and answer period. This year, Selectman Peter Kelley is unopposed. School Committee members Jessie Steigerwald and Mary Ann Stewart also face no opposition in their reelection bids after Andrei Radulescu-Banu withdrew his candidacy on Feb. 2, according to the town clerk’s office. The election is March 6.
