‘In the Bag’ competition requires ingenuity

The “It’s in the Bag’’ competition offers artists at the Post Road Art Center in Marlborough an unusual challenge: use only the materials provided in a $25 pre-assembled bag to create a unique work of art. Artists, whether professional or amateur, have until March 3 to pick up their bag and submit their entry; all submissions will then be on exhibit starting March 8, and visitors to the show may vote on their favorites. Also around the area this weekend are a Haydn concert, a program of songs on the theme of freedom, a Gilbert & Sullivan production, and a play at Dean College.
