Nominations for Child Award

The town’s Public Ceremonies Committee is seeking nominations for citizens and volunteer organizations to be recognized for their contributions to the town’s governance, to the community’s quality of life, or to serving important needs among the townspeople. In 2009, this honor was named the Lydia Maria Child Award, after the abolitionist and human and equal rights activist who resided in Wayland in the mid-19th century. Any resident may submit nominations for the award. The candidate may be a resident or local group, an organization or an employee of the town. Nominations must be submitted by Thursday to Richard Turner, chairman, Wayland Public Ceremonies Committee, 7 Nob Hill Road, Wayland, MA 01778-2216, or via e-mail at rickypt@verizon.net.
