School board studies finalists

The School Committee is expected to choose a new superintendent Thursday. The committee announced last week that the two finalists are Rebecca McFall, an administrator in the Wellesley public schools, and the Fitchburg school district’s superintendent, Andre Ravenelle. The School Committee is expected to visit the districts of both candidates this week before making its decision Thursday. McFall has been in Wellesley for the past 12 years, most recently working as the district’s director of curriculum and instruction. She has also taught middle school, and served as an assistant professor of education at Endicott College. Ravenelle has been superintendent of the Fitchburg schools for the past seven years. He previously worked as interim curriculum director in Lexington, and superintendent of the Barnstable public schools.
