Concord considers plastic water bottle ban

Business, ecological issues raised in debate

For the third year in a row, Concord residents will vote on a proposal that would ban the sale of single-serving plastic water bottles in Concord. The plan was approved at Town Meeting in 2010 but shot down by the state’s attorney general’s office. It was revised and resubmitted in 2011 but failed by seven votes. Resident Jean Hill, who is spearheading the effort , likes its chances this year. But not everyone in town is behind the plan.
