Superintendent Bella Wong announced last week that Upham Elementary School has a new principal: Jeffery Dees, currently principal of the Israel Loring Elementary School in Sudbury. “I am very excited that Jeffery Dees will be joining the Wellesley Public Schools administrative team,’’ Wong wrote in a letter sent to parents of Upham students and the school’s staff. Dees will begin his new position in September, according to the superintendent’s office. He will be taking over from interim principal Elaine Harold, who has overseen the school this year after principal Tracey Mara left. - Evan Allen
