Ashland: New superintendent appointed

The Ashland School Committee has appointed Brooke Clenchy as the district's new superintendent of schools. Clenchy has been the superintendent in Winchendon for the past four years. She also has extensive teaching experience, having worked as a teacher and principal prior to her administrative roles. Clenchy will replace interim superintendent Barbara Durand, who is also the district's director of finance and took over after the departure of Superintendent Ann Dargon last fall. The appointment is pending successful contract negotiations; Clenchy is expected to begin the job July 1. For information, visit the district's website at www.ashland.k12.ma.us. Rachel Lebeaux
