Hand-hewn gate celebrates Arlington school’s bond with Japan

The Hardy Elementary School in Arlington recently dedicated a Japanese gate, designed and made by the principal’s husband. Speakers at the ceremony remembered how the community bonded after an earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan’s northern coast in 2011.
