Senior Needs Luncheon June 6

Residents are invited to a Senior Needs Luncheon sponsored by the Dover Council on Aging on June 6 to voice their opinions about whether the town should consider building a senior center and obtain a wheelchair-accessible van. Although everyone interested is invited, Janet Claypoole, director of the Dover Council on Aging, said she particularly wants to hear from seniors to find out “what needs and issues are facing our community.” According to Claypoole, seniors make up 22 percent of Dover’s population, with more than half using services provided by the council. “We want to make sure that going forward we have the services to meet our growing needs,” she said. The luncheon starts at noon at the Caryl Community Center. Those planning to attend should RSVP by June 1 to the council at 508-785-0032, ext. 246, or e-mail coa@doverma.org.
