Weston responds to Supreme Judicial Court decision favoring Regis College

Weston issued a statement Wednesday predicting the town will ultimately prevail in its litigation against Regis College, despite this week’s ruling from the Supreme Judicial Court in favor of the school. Regis, which has proposed building a retirement community with an educational focus on its Weston campus, says it should be exempt from certain zoning restrictions under the state’s Dover Amendment. Weston says the project is not eligible for such exemptions because it is primarily residential, not educational.
